Teaching Techniques is conducted on Fairchild AFB, WA

  Fairchild AFB, Washington

  Typical groups range in size from 5 - 12 students per instructor element. Students learn in how to teach lessons pertaining to survival while at the same time learning the steps of how to teach as an Air Force instructor. Students learn lesson plan building, presentations, demonstration, student practices, critiques processes, basic computer skills and research material to use in their lessons in the survival library. Students teach the lesson the next day to their classmates and cadre video tape, grade, and critique the lesson in front of your peers so that everyone learns how they may improve their own lessons. Lesson topics may vary from a 3 - 5 min extemporaneous on how to sharpen a knife to a one and a half hour lesson on how to use a map and compass properly.
